Introduction

Department of Computer Science and Applications was established in University of Madras, in the year 1994, with the objective of imparting quality education. The department started the three year Bachelor of science (B.Sc.)(CS) (BCA) programme in the year 2008 and computer application programme. By the year of 2013, Master of science PG Programme started with 2 yrs duration. By 2008, UG and PG programmes are affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University.

Our faculty members aim at delivering top- class education blending their rich research experience with class- room teaching. As far as teaching in concerned, the department enables value to excellent mentioning a good partnership with the students and high quality lectures and seminars, paper presentation.

Apart from academic excellence, our students had focused on paper presentation and seminars.V.Kathikeyan and S.Velan of Computer application had participated in the 9th state level inter school Ryushinkan Shitoryu Karate championship and won 1st place, 2nd place in Menskata event.

Our students had focused on Symposium and debugging events, and their following names are Srimathi, Rekha, Vignesh, Vinothkumar, prakash, Dillibabu, Pavendra and Nandhini of Computer Science department had given their best efforts.

Students had performed good job in lyrics writing with their names Kowsalya, Rizwana, Kanniyappan, Vijayalakshmi and Arunachalam. In Sports events especially in Cricket, Gopinath, Duraiswamy, Murali, Vinoth kumar, Manivel, Rajamani, Narahari, Ginesh, Gokul, Ramamoorthy, Ramalingam, Balamurugan, Thangavel, had given their best performance team in cricket.
